CashHub for supermarkets and groceries at a glance
CashHub is a cashier system for supermarkets and groceries: fast scanning, scale labels, expiry dates and shift close.
- Runs on Android, iPhone and iPad (apps on Google Play and the App Store), with the back-office dashboard in the browser.
- Selling carries on when the internet drops, and invoices are signed on the device and sync later.
- Items with an expiry date sell from the nearest expiry first.
- Price: a custom price we set with each business. The first 30 days are free.
- CashHub is a brand of Rkeb Office Commercial.
Supermarket and grocery POS: what matters
A supermarket differs from other shops in the number of items and the speed of traffic. So what counts is fast scanning, sale by weight, dairy expiry, and a carton price against a single-piece price.
- Scan with a handheld scanner, a built-in scanner or the device camera.
- Read the scale label for the produce, meat and cheese counters.
- Quantity price tiers: a lower piece price from a quantity you set.
- Pay several ways on one invoice: cash, card and wallet.
A Thursday night at your supermarket
It's 7 PM and families are doing the weekly shop. The cashier scans a basket of forty items, and each product is added at its price. The produce scale's label reads in one scan, and the offer you set on dairy applies by itself.
The customer pays half by card and the rest in cash on the same invoice, and the queue doesn't stall. If the internet drops, selling carries on, and invoices are signed on the device and sync later.
At 11 PM the shift closes and the cashier prints the shift report with any cash difference. And you check the day's sales on your phone.
Dairy and juice: nearest expiry first
You receive dairy, juice and canned goods with a lot number and an expiry date from the back office, and sales go out from the nearest expiry first. So you don't find an old carton behind the fridge a week later, or have to sell it at a loss.
Suppliers and the start of the month
The start of the month after salaries is the season for big baskets, so shelves need to be full before it. Register your dairy, water and canned-goods suppliers, raise a purchase order, receive the goods and enter the cost. You run the stocktake from the back office when the store quiets down.
Delivery with your own drivers
If you have drivers who deliver neighborhood orders, you create the order in the dashboard and assign it to a driver, and the customer gets a link to track it. The driver signs in from a phone browser and sees their own orders, and you settle each driver's cash afterward. Delivery is with your own drivers only: there is no driver app and no delivery-app integration.
A small grocery that isn't VAT-registered
If your grocery hasn't reached VAT registration, CashHub works for you without getting in the way. If you register later, you switch over without changing anything in the system.
Control over cashiers and the till
- The drawer opens only with a sale or a refund.
- Discounts, voids and refunds are permission-based, and staff without the permission need the manager's PIN.
- Morning and evening shifts each get their own report and cash difference.
- Day close with a Z report, and it won't close with an unsynced device without the owner's permission.
Ramadan and summer: seasons with their own items
Before Ramadan, dates, juice and water move by the carton, so you set quantity price tiers on the carton and put offers on from the dashboard, and the register applies them by itself. In summer it is water and frozen items, and the top-selling reports show what has to be on the shelf before the holidays.
After the season you compare items and sales by hour to see when you need an extra cashier.
Many small invoices
A supermarket issues more invoices than most shops, so we set CashHub's price for your store with you, based on the size of your business and how many branches you run, and you pay it from a balance you top up. The price is per branch, not per register.
Frequently asked questions
Does it suit a small grocery with one register?
Yes. It runs on one device, and you can add a second register later on the same account.
Does it read supermarket scale labels and sell by weight?
Yes. You enter the weight yourself or it is read from the scale label, which is an EAN-13 barcode starting with a number from 20 to 29.
Does it work for items that expire?
Yes. You receive them with a lot number and an expiry date from the back office, and sales use the nearest expiry first.
Is there an app for my drivers?
No. The driver signs in from a phone browser and sees their own orders. Delivery is with your own drivers only, with no delivery-app integration.
Does it work for a supermarket with several branches?
Yes. Each branch has its own balance and shifts, one dashboard shows every branch, and you move stock between them with a transfer.
How much does a supermarket POS cost?
There's no contract and no setup fee. We set your price with you, based on the size of your business and how many branches you run. You pay it from a balance you top up, and you'll find it in your account statement. Your first 30 days are free.
