Odoo POS alternative for a simple point of sale

Odoo is an app platform with accounting built in. CashHub is register and invoicing only. This comparison tells you plainly who each one suits.

An Odoo POS alternative: first ask whether you need an ERP

Odoo is an ERP app platform where point of sale is one app among many, alongside inventory, accounting, eCommerce and loyalty, per its official pages. So if you want an Odoo POS alternative, the first question is whether you want to replace the whole system or only the register and invoicing part.

CashHub is a Saudi POS system that is simple to run: invoices, stock, shifts and reports. It has no accounting or general ledger. If your accountant works in Odoo and needs the journal entries, you will most likely stay with Odoo, and you can still use CashHub for the register alone and export your data in one file.

What Odoo says on its official pages

We read Odoo's pages and documentation on 26 October 2026:

E-invoicing in Odoo, per its documentation

Odoo documents Saudi modules: one for the Phase 1 QR code, one for Phase 2 integration and one for e-invoicing through the point of sale. The documentation explains that each sales journal is onboarded separately with a 6-digit code, that the currency must be Saudi riyal, and that company details must be complete before onboarding.

That is a setup that needs someone who knows Odoo. Ask whoever sets it up for you how long it takes and who supports you when the requirements change.

What CashHub offers instead

CashHub is built for the register directly, with no apps to install:

What CashHub does not have, and who should stay with Odoo

CashHub has no accounting or general ledger, no payroll, no online store, no loyalty programme and no gift cards.

If your company runs manufacturing, purchasing, or accounting and payroll on Odoo, and the point of sale is part of the same ledger cycle, stay with Odoo. Moving only the register would mean linking two systems by hand, and we don't recommend that unless the register itself is your main problem.

A worked example with CashHub numbers: a kiosk selling 10 invoices a day

A coffee kiosk or small café selling 10 invoices a day for 30 days: 300 invoices × 0.05 = SAR 15 a month. If the business grows, the cap stops it at SAR 149 per branch a month including VAT, and at SAR 99 for the first 500 founding restaurants, cafés, bakeries and sweet shops, which happens at about 1,980 invoices a month. The first 30 days are free, with no contract and no setup fee. These are the prices for restaurants and cafés; retail and furniture businesses have a custom price we set with you.

Odoo's first app is free per its page, so a fair comparison depends on the apps you need, your number of users and installation services. We don't work out Odoo's cost here because the numbers change with the plan, so ask them for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions

Does CashHub fully replace Odoo?

No. CashHub covers the register, invoicing, stock and reports. It has no accounting, general ledger or payroll, so anyone who needs those stays with Odoo.

Can I use CashHub for the register and keep Odoo for accounting?

You can, and you can export your business data in one file. We don't promise an automatic link between the two here, so ask us when you reserve about your case.

What would CashHub cost me?

Restaurants and cafés pay 5 halalas per invoice, capped at SAR 149 per branch a month including VAT, and the first 500 restaurants, cafés, bakeries and sweet shops get a SAR 99 cap for a year. Retail and furniture businesses have a custom price we set with you. The first 30 days are free for everyone.

Do I need a consultant to set up CashHub?

No. We move your items for free, register your devices on the Fatoora platform with you, and you start selling the same day.

Does CashHub keep working if the internet drops?

Yes. The invoice is signed and saved on the device and syncs when the connection returns.
